Walk Your Greenway June 6th!
Come out this Saturday and celebrate National Trails Day by joining the Friends of Lafitte Corridor on a three mile hike along the decommissioned rial road through the heart of New Orleans. The Friends of Lafitte Corridor are a grassroots organization dedicated to the creation of a greenway along this corridor and hope to raise awareness of project this weekend. Hikers will be joined by members of the Design Workshop, the firm that has received the greenway contract from the city of New Orleans.
The hike starts at 10:00am this Saturday at the front gate of Armstrong Park and continues along the Lafitte Corridor until Canal Blvd. A light lunch will be provided by Massey’s Professional Outfitters around noon at the Carrollton Ave crossing. Bring sunscreening, good shoes, water, and come get some exercise while showing your support for the greenway.
